During six months that I’ve been living and working as participated artist at the National Art Studio, Goyang, Korea, I started to take a lot of photos. I take photos almost everyday. Photography is a way of looking at things. It likes a daily sketch for my mind.
At the beginning of this photographic series ‘Let’s Meet At The Intersection’, I went to Seoul to find subjects by visiting different parts of the metropolis. The more I try to find, the harder it gets. After I’d been going back and forth for months between Goyang City and Seoul, I realize the nearby neighborhood in Goyang is a place where I discover subject matters, actions and situations for my project. I’ve started walking around the neighborhood at different times everyday.
I introduce some experimental photography techniques with this photographic series; shooting a photo without composing the image, capture the situation every thirty seconds, set camera at one spot of the street and wait for actions. I try to open up new possibilities to create an image. Most pictures are only controlled over exposure time and rectangular format.
